Trip to Utah/ Triathlon

A friend was traveling up to Utah with just here two kids. She asked if I would come along and help drive. So I did. It was a fast trip but a lot of fun. Mindy had signed up for a team triathlon and when the found out I was going to be there that weekend they had me do the run. It was a cold, cold, rainy day. The swim was indoors, but they started the girls way to close together so they were bumping into each other with no way to pass. But she still did a good job, especially since she is pregnant. Caleb did the bike. It was a mountain bike trail and was sooo muddy. They were sliding all over and everyone was so muddy when they finished. I did the run. It would have been more fun if the second half wasn't straight uphill. It was on the University of Utah's campus and the last half of the run was up the huge long hill in the middle of campus. And it was altitude. I am not used to altitude (or cold). It was hard but fun. We waited around for hours to hear the results, but the had trouble with the timing so we finally left without hearing them. Too bad we didn't stay because we took third. Yeah for us.

Easter

Every year Jeff fills my Easter basket, and I fill his. He did great even going to Micheal's to find the chocolate-hazelnut carrots that I love. This year he also got me some lotion. One was a vanilla buttercream...it smells like frosting. I happened to wear it to church on Easter which was fast sunday. After sacrament meeting one of our friends came up and asked if it smelled like frosting to us. She said she had "smelled it the whole meeting and it smelled so good." I had to admit it was my lotion. Since then there have been several comments when I wear the lotion about it smelling like frosting.
Jeff was also excited for his basket. He got upset the night before when he thought that I had forgotten to get peeps. For those who don't know Jeff LOVES peeps. Luckily he got three boxes.

Easter Pageant

The Easter Pageant is held every year at the Mesa Temple. As we live so close to it, we decided that we would attend it the Friday before Easter. It was a really fun experience. I packed a really good dinner and we got there pretty early. Early enough to get seats on about the third row. We were so close that you could actually see the actors mouths moving. Here is a picture from the end of the program. They do a really good job portraying the life of Jesus Christ and it was a great way to remember what Easter is about.
We were there so early that we ate dinner there to take up some of the waiting time. I packed great sandwiches (with meat and everything), we had veggies and dip, kettle corn, and drinks. It was all so good. Most people had fast food, so our meal was definately better. We weren't jealous or anything...until we were eating our carrots and broccoli. The ladies next to us just had to pull out there chocolate covered strawberries. Oh my goodness. They looked so good.
Here's Jeff showing just how close to the stage we were. It was actually a fairly cool night. We had jackets and everything. When we got home the news said they canceled soccer games and that you needed to stay inside because of the weather...it was in the 60' and the wind was blowing around 30 mph or so.  Not breaking news worthy.

Conference Weekend

This weekend was kind of fun. Friday we went out to lunch with some friends that are in Jeff's class. We followed that up with some shopping. It is fun to go shopping with money that has to be spent. We got a $100 visa gift card for finding our apartment on rent.com. We have to use that money by the end of the month. We ended up getting a frame for a picture my brother gave us forever ago. We also watched a lot of conference. It was good. Especially because we missed out on so much last conference...St. George Marathon was that weekend. We woke up on Saturday to go to yard sales. There were a lot but we didn't find anything. We were also able to spend a lot of time with friends and family. It was good. I had an opportunity to go up to Utah and visit family, but Jeff wanted me here. I didn't want to stay if he was studying the whole weekend. So he took the weekend off and I saw a lot more of him than I have in long time. It was fun. Unfortunately he now has to make up for the missed studying. He has a test everyday this week. Oh well.
